Dr. (Hon.) Shivani Saini is an Assistant Professor, author and legal educator with a deep interest in making legal education more practical, accessible and meaningful for students. With experience in legal education, courtroom practice and mentoring law and judiciary aspirants, she has closely observed the journey of students as they move from learning legal provisions in the classroom to trying to understand how those provisions actually work in real situations. Over the years, she has noticed that students often know the definitions, sections and case laws, yet struggle when they are asked a simple practical question: “How do I apply this law?” It was this gap between knowing the law and understanding the law in practice that inspired her to write Law in Practice — A Practical Guide for Law Students. As an Assistant Professor, she has experienced first-hand the questions students bring into the classroom—the hesitation before answering a problem question, the difficulty in reading a judgment, the uncertainty about approaching a Bare Act, the confusion surrounding legal research and drafting, and the nervousness that often accompanies a student’s first exposure to a courtroom. This book is her response to those needs. Rather than presenting law merely as a collection of sections, definitions and judgments, Dr. Saini has attempted to create a practical learning companion that encourages students to read, question, research, analyse, draft, argue and apply. Her belief is simple: legal education should not end with remembering what the law says; it should teach a student how to think with the law. Through this book, she hopes to make the transition from the classroom to the practical world of law a little less intimidating for students. The exercises, hypothetical situations, research activities, drafting tasks and practical guidance have been included with the intention of helping students develop confidence through application. She writes with the perspective of an educator who understands that every student does not learn in the same way—and that sometimes a student does not need another definition, but simply needs someone to explain how the concept works in real life. Law in Practice is therefore not merely a book she wanted to write; it is a book that grew out of what she repeatedly saw her students need.

Dr. Amit Prakash Sen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Engineering and IT, ARKA JAIN University, Jharkhand. He holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Biju Patnaik University of Technology, an M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Image Processing from KIIT University. Dr. Sen has over 13 years of teaching experience and 3.5 years of research experience. His areas of expertise span Image Processing, Deep Learning, and VLSI Design. He has authored and co-authored several research papers in leading international journals and conferences.

Taniya Ghosh is an experienced academic and engineering professional with nearly 10 years of Teaching experience and over 5 years of Industrial experience in Panel manufacturing and Industrial safety across diverse sectors. She is currently associated with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Engineering and IT, ARKA JAIN University, Jharkhand. She holds M.Tech in Power Electronics and Power Systems from Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), with an outstanding academic record. Her professional expertise encompasses Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy Systems, Power Electronics, Industrial Safety, and IoT-based monitoring systems. Her research interests include renewable energy systems, solar energy integration, smart grid applications, electrical industrial safety, Air Separation Unit (ASU) safety and reliability, and IoT-based solar panel monitoring and diagnostics. Her work focuses on integrating advanced technologies, data analytics, and intelligent monitoring techniques for improving the performance, reliability, and safety of Electrical and Industrial systems. She also contributed to innovation and technological advancement through patent-related research and development activities. Her professional experience enables her to effectively bridge theoretical concepts with practical Industrial applications, contributing to meaningful research, engineering innovation, and quality engineering education.

Dr. Aparna Salonia is a Prosthodontist dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in clinical dentistry and implant prosthodontics. With a deep commitment to ethical practice, evidence-based treatment, and patient-centred care, she believes that successful dentistry begins with accurate diagnosis, thoughtful treatment planning, and a responsibility to place the patient’s best interests at the forefront. Known for her sincerity, perseverance, and meticulous approach, Dr. Aparna brings the same dedication to academics and writing that she brings to her clinical practice. Her professional journey has been shaped by a constant desire to learn, refine her skills, and translate knowledge into practical clinical decision-making. Her book on Diagnosis and Treatment Planning in Implant Dentistry is the result of extensive study, careful compilation, and years of dedication to the principles of prosthodontics and implant rehabilitation. It has been written with the intention of providing clinicians and students with a structured and clinically relevant approach to one of the most important stages of implant treatment: planning before treatment begins. For Dr. Aparna, dentistry is not merely a profession but a responsibility—one that demands knowledge, integrity, compassion, and continuous learning. Through her work as a clinician, educator, and author, she hopes to contribute meaningfully to the profession and encourage a thoughtful, ethical, and patient-oriented approach to implant dentistry.

Prof. Subash Chandra Padhy, Professor Emeritus and historian, has devoted several decades to the study and teaching of history, with particular interest in Odisha, regional history, tribal studies, peasant movements, freedom movements and historical methodology. His scholarship combines archival research, documentation and comparative interpretation with a continuing interest in emerging approaches to historical research. Through this volume, he extends his long engagement with history from the study of events and movements to the wider world of personalities whose contributions have shaped human thought, culture and society.

Dr. Rutambhara Sahu, BHMS, is now pursuing her post graduate training in the Department of Practice of Medicine at Rajasthan Vidyapeeth Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Her interests within the field of homoeopathy include homoeopathic therapeutics, clinical research, scientific writing, evidence-based homoeopathy and the critical evaluation of various interdisciplinary applications of homoeopathy. More specifically, Dr. Sahu is interested in understanding how scientific research and publications can help to improve the academic and clinical aspects of homoeopathy. Some of Dr. Sahu's other scholarly interests include the preparation of review articles, book chapters, academic manuscripts and educational materials for postgraduate students. Also, Dr. Sahu is also interested in creating academic resources that can assist postgraduate students, teachers and researchers within the field of homoeopathy. Overall, Dr. Sahu hopes to contribute to the development of a more research-oriented and academically thorough field of homoeopathy.

Dr. Jishan Aman, LL.M., Ph.D. (Law), is a legal scholar, academic administrator, and practising advocate whose work bridges scholarship and courtroom practice. He serves as City General Secretary of the Human Rights Council of India and is a Founding Member of Third Eye Legal Associates. As Principal of the Institute of Advanced Studies and R.N. Tagore Institute, he has led sustained efforts to widen access to quality legal education, particularly for students who have historically been left outside its reach. An Advocate-on-Record before the Supreme Court of India, he appears regularly in matters concerning constitutional guarantees and civil liberties. Much of his professional life has been given to legal aid and social justice for marginalised communities, and this commitment runs through his academic writing as well. His scholarship is marked by the conviction that legal theory earns its worth only when it can be tested against the lived circumstances of those the law is meant to protect.

B. Suresh Lal is a Professor of Economics and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences at Kakatiya University, Warangal, Telangana, India. He teaches post-graduate level courses and directs a team of doctoral scholars. He is a renowned scholar in Development Economics, Health Economics, and the Economics of Tribal Studies, and his research has influenced policy and academic discourse. He serves as Editor of the International Journal of Environment and Development. Prof. Lal was elected a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society UK, the International Academy of Social Sciences USA, and the International Society for Development and Sustainability Japan. Prof. Lal has received multiple awards, including the U.S. Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, the Indira Gandhi National NSS Award and the Best Teacher Award.
